Ashley Klose is a uniquely talented Australian film composer with a remarkable gift for interpreting cinematic drama.
His impressive portfolio of projects include credits on numerous feature films, including Look Both Ways (winner of Best Film at 2006 AFI Awards), Thunderstruck, The Old Man Who Read Love Stories and Lantana (winner of Best Film at 2002 AFI Awards), over 50 short films, over 50 television commercials (including international tvc’s), plus numerous television series, television documentaries, and computer games (including titles for Sony PlayStation).
In 1995 Ashley was recognised at the Australian String Quartet Composer’s Forum and in 1997 he was awarded the Young Australian of the Year for the Arts (SA).
Ashley’s first feature film score, for the ‘no budget’ 16mm black & white independent film ‘Getting the Dirt on Trish’ in 2002, was nominated for Best Music for a Feature Film at the prestigious Australian Screen Composer’s Awards, an unprecedented achievement in the history of these Awards.
Ashley won an APRA/Australian Guild of Screen Composers Screen Music Award in 2003, and in 2004 he won Best Music Score at the 2004 Tropfest International Film Festival. In 2006 he was awarded the National APRA Professional Development Award for Film & Television Composing.
Ashley is currently participating in the prestigious ASCAP Film & Television Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles.
